This guide explains:
Where to find the reusable mandate link and how to use it
What happens when a customer authorises a mandate
Find and use the reusable direct debit mandate link
The reusable direct debit mandate link lets any customer set up a direct debit mandate with you. Once authorised, the mandate can be used to automatically collect invoice payments from that customer.
Where to find the link
Go to Customers in the sidebar.
Copy your 'Reusable mandate link'.
The link includes your business name and branding. Here is an example of what customers will see when opening the link.
How the link works
The link is static, meaning it never changes.
It can be reused by multiple customers.
You only need to set it up once and can share it wherever needed.
Where you can use the link
You can share the link in:
Your proposal software (for example, as part of accepting a proposal)
Your website
An email or email signature
Any other place where customers can access it
What happens when a customer authorises a mandate
When a customer completes the mandate using the link, Adfin will automatically:
Match the mandate to an existing customer when the name and email both match a customer you already have.
Create a new customer if there is no match.
In both cases:
You’ll receive an email notification.
A tag is added so you can see at a glance how the mandate arrived:
🆕 DD sign up - New Customer for a new customer.
✨ DD sign up - Auto Matched for an existing customer.
You can filter your Customers view by these tags.
If a duplicate customer is created
If a new customer is created because the customer used a different name or email, you can use the customer merge feature to combine the records.
Adfin also creates a separate customer, rather than adding a second mandate, when the matched customer already has an active mandate. This leaves the existing mandate untouched. If it’s the same customer, merge the customers.
