When you move your payment collections to Adfin from another provider, there are two straightforward ways to do it:

  1. Re-mandate – ask your customers to sign a new Direct Debit mandate through Adfin.

  2. Migrate existing mandates – transfer your existing mandates from another provider directly into Adfin.

Both approaches will get you collecting payments seamlessly through Adfin – it’s simply a case of choosing the route that suits your setup best.

Route A: re-mandate (new Direct Debit mandates via Adfin)

With the re-mandate approach, your customers authorise payments again through Adfin’s secure, user-friendly flow. The process is quick (it can be started whenever you're ready!) and fully digital, and Adfin provides everything you need - from branded mandate authorisation links to automated reminders.

You’ll find the full steps and customer communication templates in this section the Help Centre: Switching from another provider by re-mandating.

Why it’s easier than it sounds

  • Customers authorise their new mandate in just a few clicks – usually in under a minute.

  • The Adfin mandate authorisation interface works perfectly on mobile and desktop.

  • You control the timing, messaging and rollout.

  • Automated reminders follow up with anyone who hasn’t signed, so you don’t need to chase manually.

  • You start fresh on Adfin’s platform, with clean data and full feature access from day one.

  • Collections continue without interruption.

This route gives you full ownership of the switch and ensures every mandate is verified and ready to go within Adfin’s environment.

💡Most customers sign straight away, and Adfin takes care of the rest – so your move feels seamless for everyone involved.

Route B: migrate existing mandates

Adfin can help transfer your existing Direct Debit mandates across so customers don’t need to sign again. This behind-the-scenes process keeps your collections running smoothly and avoids any customer action. This process typically takes around 4 weeks.

You can learn more about eligibility and setup in the mandate migration guidance.

Why it can work well

  • No customer action required.

  • Collections continue without interruption.

Choosing your route

Re-mandate is ideal when you’d like a clean start with Adfin and want to bring customers onboard quickly through a clear, digital sign-up process. It’s efficient, fully automated, and gives you complete control of your data and communications.

Migrating existing mandates can be useful when you have a significant number of mandates to move over and you prefer to switch everything quietly in the background.

Both paths lead to the same place: your business collecting payments reliably through Adfin.
