Some clients just won’t sign their direct debit mandate. Now you can set up Auto Collect+ as an automated backup, giving those clients the option to pay using On Demand payments instead 💳

What is Auto Collect+?

Auto Collect+ gives you the ability to offer customers the option to set up a direct debit alongside other available payment methods.

Use Auto Collect+ to give customers flexibility - allowing them to pay On Demand if they haven’t yet completed their direct debit mandate or if you’re unsure of their preferred payment method.

Enabling Auto Collect+

To enable Auto Collect+, go to Payments settings → Workflows and toggle it on.

If you’d like, you can make this available immediately so your client can pay using any method they prefer. Simply configure the Auto Collect + notification to be sent 'Right away'.

Alternatively, you can set the delay for when Auto Collect + is offered, measured from the date you send the invoice. After that period, customers will receive an additional notification, and the On Demand payment option will appear on all future mandate reminders.

Auto Collect+ payer experience

Here’s what your customer will experience when you enable Auto Collect+.

If you have enabled Auto Collect+ with the setting ‘Right Away’, your customer will receive the invoice notification email in the format shown below as soon as the invoice is sent (the invoice PDF will also be attached).

If Auto Collect+ is not configured to “Right Away,” Adfin will first send a mandate authorisation email along with the invoice. The follow-up notification (as shown below) will then be sent at the specified schedule - for example, 5, 7, 14, or 30 days after the invoice is issued.

When the customer clicks ‘Click to pay’, they are presented with several payment options:

  • The option to set up a Direct Debit (displayed at the top of the list)

  • Or to pay via Pay by Bank, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or Card
