Can I upgrade to Adfin Custom later?

Adfin Custom (your business name on Direct Debit statements) is chosen during onboarding and can't be added once you're live. How it differs from your card and bank transfer statement name.

Written by Angus Tylee

Adfin Custom puts your own business name on your customers' bank statements when you collect by Direct Debit, instead of the standard Adfin reference. It's a £36/month add-on.

You choose whether to add Adfin Custom when you first set up Direct Debits, during verification. It can't be switched on later for an account that's already live.

Why it can't be added later

The name that shows on your customers' statements is fixed to the Direct Debit service user that the mandates are assigned to. Moving to Adfin Custom after initial setup would mean asking every one of your customers to authorise a brand-new mandate. To avoid that disruption, Adfin Custom is set at the start.

If you're still in onboarding and think you'll want your own name on statements, choose Adfin Custom during verification. For what your customers see either way, see What your customer sees on their bank statement.

Card and bank transfer payments are different

This only applies to Direct Debit. For card and bank transfer payments, the name your customers see is your statement name, which you can update yourself in your settings at any time. Adfin Custom changes only what shows on Direct Debit collections.
